Sabrosa Gives Back

May 2019 Charity of the Month

may charity 2

The ultimate goal for Katy’s Courage is to foster kindness, happiness and well being in the world through upholding its mission to “pass it on.”

Katy’s Courage was founded in 2012 in honor of a precious young girl, Katy Stewart. Katy was diagnosed with a rare form of pediatric liver cancer called hepatoblastoma and died at 12-years young. Katy’s Courage is dedicated to raising monies to fund local school scholarships, pediatric cancer research and Katy’s Kids @ CMEE.

The Katy’s Courage Fund for Pediatric Cancer Research is based at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY, the hospital where Katy underwent treatments. Katy’s Kids @ CMEE is new program, located at the Children’s Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton designed to offer play and expressive support opportunities for children and adolescents. The focus of the group will be to offer peer support within a safe environment where children, teens, young adults and their families grieving the death of a loved one can share their experiences. The group will utilize modalities such as art, music, poetry, dance/movement and drama.

What is the Charity of the Month & how does the application process work?

At Sabrosa, we believe in helping the community and making a difference. We believe in this so much that every month we donate to a local charity or organization within the community. At the end of each month, we invite the charity to Sabrosa and present them with a check. If you are interested in becoming the next charity please fill out the form below and tell us about your charity. One of our Sabrosa team members will get back to you as soon as possible.
